What Is an RSS Feed? How Can I Use an RSS Feed?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a technology that enables you to receive a specific flow of information from a source on the internet. Subscribing to RSS Feeds allows you to receive custom, up-to-date information from your favorite online content sources without having to regularly check the site for updates. You can subscribe to RSS feeds within in most internet browsers (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox), email applications, online portals, media players (e.g. Apple iTunes), and feed readers (such as Google Reader).

Howcast offers RSS feeds for our Most Viewed, Most Recent, Top Rated and Top Favorite videos and guides.

To subscribe to an RSS feed using your preferred internet browser, RSS reader or media player (e.g. iTunes),

  1. Browse to http://www.howcast.com/rss.
  2. Click on the orange RSS icon next to the feed to which you would like to subscribe to view it in your internet browser.
  3. Subscribe to the RSS feed in your browser or copy the RSS feed link location to your preferred RSS reader or media player (e.g. iTunes).

Note: There are also RSS feed links on search results pages and category pages.
