They say the eyes are the window to the soul. We might say the same thing about your profile page—here’s how to customize it to fit your own sparkling personality.
Log into Howcast and visit your profile page by clicking “My Profile” at the top of the page.
Click the link that reads “Edit your profile information.” Here you can change your picture and personal information, such as your name, birthday, occupation, websites, and schools.
Images must be a .png, .jpg, or .gif file no larger than 300 kilobytes. Landscape (not portrait) orientation is best.
From your profile page, click “change its appearance.”
Pick a theme, which provides the overall color scheme for your page. If you want to choose all the colors yourself, click “Custom.”
Under the heading “My Profile,” enter a name for and description of your page. You can also pick a featured video and set it to play automatically when anyone visits your profile.
Manage your layout. Add or remove sections by clicking the checkboxes—or arrange them by dragging the boxes themselves.
Boxes with a locked symbol cannot be moved.
Choose your colors and fonts carefully. Ask yourself, “If I was a color, what would I be?” Just kidding. But seriously, what about a font? We’d be Trebuchet, because it’s a kind of medieval catapult.
Using modest variations on a single muted color looks classy, while a bright, multi-colored approach can show off your wild side.
Change your background image, if you want. Under “Background Type,” you can choose to either upload or link to a background image. Just keep it simple—if your photo is too busy, it can make your page difficult to read.
When you’re done, click “Save” at the bottom of the page. Now your soul, err, profile is on display to the world!
